Company Profile: Sr. Business Controller Global Financial Markets
Sr. Business Controller Global Financial Markets for the global control deparment of an international bank. This control unit is responsible for the global financial markets activities. Responsibilities of the department include the planning & control cycle, strategy execution monitoring, benchmarking, performance reporting to global business management/Board and the global product control function. This team consists of people with multidisciplinary backgrounds in Trading, Treasury, Audit, Control, Risk, Operations and are highly educated and motivated.



Job profile: Sr. Business Controller Global Financial Markets
This position is close to the business and will give a global view on the developments in the business in the current market turmoil. An important part of the role is to give guidance and support to product control units in the trading offices throughout the world; some travel will therefore be required. This control team sets global best practices and is at least involved in the main and complex issues.

The seniority of this global position requires a specialist mindset with good communication skills. It is not important to be the best quantitative modeller, but that you are able to explain what the import parameters are and can conceptualize issues for Senior Management. Dependent on experience and seniority you will be member of e.g. the Global ALM committee, the Global Financial Markets Risk Committee, the Capital impact committee, the New Business Committee and/or Valuations committee.
Most of the work is project ad/hoc based to solve complex issues, bring transparency on issues or to assess impact of changes in the environment (amongst which new regulations like Bis 3, IFRS 9) to the business and strategy of the bank. You often act as a projectleader.


Job Criteria: Sr. Business Controller Global Financial Markets

Excellent knowledge or interest in some of the following subjects is required:

• Accounting/IFRS
• Instruments valuation
• BIS 2/Bis 3/Economic Capital
• Risk Management (Marketrisk + creditrisk + liquidityrisk)
• Interest rate based (structured) products
• Portfolio performance management

Key characteristics of the candidate are:

• The ability to form an independent opinion on current and future developments within the business and product risks
• Strong analytical skills maybe through a consultancy background
• Excellent communication skills
• Background could be in business, mathematics, risk or audit
• A CFA, FRM, RT, RA or RC qualification is preferred (or equivalent) and/or willingness to start such training

Offer: Sr. Business Controller Global Financial Markets
Salary depends on your background but will between € 75.000 and € 95.000 including holidaypayment and 13th month, excluding bonus (between 8% and 15%).
