This worldwide bank is looking for a Product Controller within Finance & Control Department.
They serve clients which are among the leading multinational Corporates and renowned financial institutions and are served through 140 offices in 25 countries.

Functieomschrijving Product Controller

Finance & Control is responsible for providing reliable and high quality financial and management information and for control services to the wholesale business in a timely, efficient and professional manner. The customers include senior management of wholesale business units, Corporate Clients, CT and Securities, as well as the Control Group and regulatory authorities.

Main focus for the product controller will be delivering of the daily Profit and Loss statement to Front Office traders. The controller needs to gain profound understanding of the markets and products to act as a sparring partner for the Business. In order to meet deadlines (daily, monthly, other), it is important to prioritise tasks and to liaise closely with both Front Office (trading) and Back Office (processing) as well as ensuring compliance to company policy. As such we are responsible for the data integrity of the systems used. Product Control also has an important role in setting up new businesses, implementing new systems and improving existing processes and controls.
The role of the product controller is a combination of daily tasks, problem-solving and analysis work. The person must combine analytical skills with an excellent work mentality and perseverance to achieve results.

The product control team is based at the Finance & Control department and consists of three departments: Regulatory and Management Reporting, Middle Office Product Control and General Ledger Control Group.
Middle Office Product Control is part of Finance & Control. Besides the F&C customers MOPC has a strong link with Front Office traders of Global Financial Markets, Financial Engineering, Market Risk, Back Office and Static Data departments. MOPC consists of several sub-departments: Control Support Group, Derivatives, Equity Derivatives/Equities, Exotics, Corporate Banking, FX & Money Markets, Bonds & Repos and Investment Books.

Functiecriteria: Product Controller

Required knowledge:

• Higher Vocational Education/ University level (preferably in Business Administration or Business Economics)
• Knowledge of investment and corporate banking product and markets (Equity Derivatives and Cash Equities), Risk management and investment banking accounting preferred.
• Basic knowledge of financial accounting (IFRS)
• Strong PC skills (good solid Excel is a must, Visual Basic is a preference)
• Analyzing skills, able to analyse problems and new situations
• Able to cope with time pressure and deadlines
• Fluent in English and preferably Dutch
• Experience in a financial environment (business administration or business economics)
