Operational Risk Sox Controller for the global Finance department of a large international bank.
Global Finance provides reliable financial & management information, an independent and critical analysis, directed at delivering an added value to the organisation. We do this pro-actively, in an international & dynamic environment, based on thorough knowledge of the products and understanding of the financial and wholesale markets.
Global Operational Risk Control (Global ORC) is one of the sub-departments within Global Finance and covers primarily two areas: Operational Risk Management and SOx/Account Certification. The strategy of Global ORC is to advise the Management team well as senior management  (upon request & on own initiative) regarding the performance of all parts of the organisation with respect to operational risk management, SOx and the allocation of economic capital. The SOx Controller is a Specialist position within Global ORC providing support to Senior Management and Management team concerning SOx 4.04.

Within Global ORC we are looking for a medior SOx Controller who supports the Global SOx team and General Ledger Control and interacts closely with the global Operational Risk Control teams.
Primary contacts are with Regional and Business line Management (including IT), Regional SOx Controllers, Global Head Finance, Audit Group, Control Group and external Accountants. Other contacts are with working groups and committees like the Regional SOx Committees and the Group SOx Committee.
For the SOx Controller the main focus is on:
1. Improving, monitoring, analyzing and controlling the Internal Control Framework over Financial Reporting;
2. Supporting the worldwide network, as a centre-of-competence, (proactive) with the understanding, interpretation and application of the policy and procedures/guidelines;
3. Analyzing the Control framework against the strategy and objectives and informing / supporting the Management Team in making the right decisions regarding these products;
4. Proposing possibilities to the Head of Global Operational Risk Control for the implementation of SOx 4.04 policies and procedures based on the Global ORC strategy or given by Control Group in an efficient way throughout the organisation according to high quality standards.

Functiecriteria Operational Risk/Sox Controller - Utrecht

• University degree in Business Economics or Business Administration (in depth Financial Accounting knowledge is highly preferable);


• Knowledge and understanding of financial processes and products within an international Wholesale and Retail & Rural Bank;


• Knowledge of Operational Risk Manag
